Welcome to 5th Street Family Practice

It is officially autumn and, with the change of seasons, comes cold and flu season. Patients with cold and flu symptoms cannot be seen in the clinic. If you think you may have Covid19 please do either the online or phone assessment (links under Covid19 tab). If you are uncertain, please book a virtual appointment with your physician to discuss next steps. Parents with questions about their school-aged children and Covid19, please look at our website's Covid19 tab.

Flu vaccines are available now, please make arrangements for obtaining your flu vaccine through your pharmacy. Public Health Flu Vaccine Clinics will begin October 19, 2020.  Fifth Street Family Practice is not able to give flu shots.

The majority of our patients continue to receive their care virtually (video or telephone appointments) at this time. We are seeing a small number of patients in person at the clinic as determined by your physician. If your physician needs you to come into the clinic for your appointment, you will be screened prior to your appointment for COVID19. If you answer yes to any screening questions, your appointment will be switched to a virtual appointment. ALL persons coming into the clinic are required to wear a face mask which covers your mouth and nose at ALL times, in the waiting room, but especially in the exam rooms.  If you do not have a mask, a fabric mask will be provided for your use while you are in the clinic. If you are unable or refuse to wear a mask, your appointment with be converted to a virtual appointment. NO EXCEPTIONS.  ALL persons entering the clinic are REQUIRED to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the clinic. There are NO exceptions. If you are unable to comply with these requirements, you will be offered a virtual appointment.

Due to pandemic regulations our toilet is NOT available for patient use, except in an                                                                Emergency ONLY.

Due to pandemic regulations, no walk-ins are allowed.

This includes: appointments;  prescription or other requests; as well as picking up or dropping off forms.  If you need to either pick up or drop off forms/letters, please call clinic staff at 250-338-2182 to pre-arrange. Thanks for your understanding.

Our waiting room space is now very limited. We ask that patients wait in their vehicle or outside until just prior to their appointment time. Please call the clinic at 250-338-2182 to check in. If the phone is busy, please knock gently on the front door and one of our staff will be glad to check you in at the door. Due to pandemic regulations, if your Doctor is running late, you may be asked to return to the clinic at a later time for your in-person appointment. Unfortunately, if your Doctor is running very late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to another day.

All patients must attend the clinic alone. If the appointment is for a child or a dependent adult, only ONE caregiver may attend the appointment. If you are attending with another person, please wait outside/in your vehicle for the patient with the appointment. We are only allowed one way traffic through the clinic, therefore all patients who are able to negotiate 2 stairs will be escorted out the back entrance after their appointment.

We are NOT providing sick notes for schools or employers as per BCCCDC and PHO guidelines. For more information please see the Forms/Letters and the Covid19 tabs.
